With the increasing popularity of family history investigations, it is inevitable that commercial web site providers will cash in on this fascinating hobby/ology. We have recently been alarmed at the number of errors that are cropping up on some of these sites. There is little or no checks on the authenticity of the data uploaded on some of them.

We take take a great deal of care to make sure that anything published is proven and documented on this site. There seems little we can do to remedy this, but, rest assured that anything we receive by contributions, is rigorously researched before being published.

This site is in tribute to John Walter Mingay (Jack). Jack spent many many hours researching the family name, and has left us all a great deal of information to enjoy.
