1. It has not been proven that Joseph is the son of David Ming and Elizabeth Carter of Bermuda.
2. Joseph Ming received 200 acres of land in Beaufort Co., NC for transporting 24 people into that state. Thomas Ming was named in that group. Deed Book 1, pg. 7, Beaufort Co., NC. Also in "The North Carolinian", Vol. VI, No. 2, June 1960, pg. 687.
3. Was Master of sloop "Tryall", 6 tons, built in Virginia in 1692. This was in a list of "Vessells (sic) Entering Inwards Lower District James River from 25 March to 10 July 1702". Cognets, Jr., Louis des. "English Duplicates of Lost Virginia Records", Princeton, NJ, 1960, pg. 296.
4. In the "List of Ships Entering & Cleared York River from 24 June 1705 to 22 Aug 1706", the Sloop "Ruth of North Carolina" 10 tons, was listed with Joseph Ming named as Master. ..."English Duplicates of Lost Virginia Records"... pg. 311.
5. Joseph Ming died before 27 March 1707. On that date his widow received a Letter of Administration. At the same time, the court ordered an inventory of his estate.
