Henry was born in Virginia, but moved to Tennessee sometime around the 1820s. Between 1826 and 1836, he received three land grants in Knox County, Tennessee for a total of about 200 acres of land. Sometime between 1846 and 1848, Henry moves his family across the Cumberland Mountains to Knox County, Kentucky, and receives a 200 acre land grant there. By 1870, Henry is living with his son Elkanah in Knox County, Tennessee.
Peter served during the Civil War in Co. D, 16th Batt'n (Neal's) Tennessee Cavalry (conscripts), as a private.
Samuel served during the Civil War in Co. D, 16th Batt'n (Neal's) Tennessee Cavalry (conscripts), at the rank of Private.
